From Safe Haven to Shakespeare: the UK-KRI relationship

MERI is pleased to host a seminar for Angus McKee, Consul General of the United Kingdom in the Kurdistan Region and Northern Iraq, on Wednesday 20, July 2016, at 10:00 AM. The Consul General will talk about the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom. As his post in Erbil as Consul General is concluding, Mr McKee will reflect on his time in the Kurdistan Region and Northern Iraq.

Angus McKee studied Arabic and International Relations at the University of St Andrews before joining the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 2000.  He served in Research Analysts Department from 2000 to 2011, including as Head of the Middle East & North Africa Research Group.  Since then he has been posted overseas to Damascus, Beirut and most recently Erbil where he is serving as Her Majesty’s Consul General to Kurdistan Region & Northern Iraq.
