The diverse research projects conducted by the Institute are accommodated within five programs:

International Politics and National Security

The IPNS program focuses on the impact of global, as well as regional, politics and events on the security of nations in the Middle East. It assesses the impact of political, economic and security events and how they may shape the future of the Middle East as well as the threats and opportunities they bring for the countries of the region as a whole. Democracy and Governance

The D&G program is focused on the process of nation building and as such it has a diverse remit, ranging from studies on political systems, human rights, institutions of democracy and civil society to the rule-of-law, good governance and system reform. Economics, Energy and Environment

The EEE program focuses on studying the policies and strategies adopted by Middle Eastern countries that help them maximise their economic potential, reduce their dependence on hydrocarbons and globalise themselves in trade and economics. EEE studies the threats and opportunities that face the Middle Eastern countries following the latest changes in the political order. It also studies the impact of economic growth, evolving infra-structure and demographic changes on the environment. For projects under this program visit our Projects page.

Science, Health, Education and Public services

The SHEPS programme focuses on policies and strategies for the protection of health, provision of quality healthcare, education and public services to all citizens. SHEPS programme studies the impact of science and technology on the society and economy. It examines policies for investment in local R&D infrastructure, human resources and innovation potential, and ways of benefiting from international advances. The programme also studies the reform of education (basic and higher) system, vocational training and capacity building. For projects under this program visit our Projects page.

Community, Civil Society and Cultural Development

The CCCD programme concerns divers social studies related to human rights, religion, ethnicity, gender, family, community, culture, history and archaeology. For projects under this program visit our Projects page.
