The Future of Ethnic and Religious Minorities in the Kurdistan Region

MERI is pleased to host a roundtable meeting at our office on Thursday 8 October, 2015, at 3:00 PM to debate our report on “Protecting Minorities’ Rights in the Kurdistan Region: A Tailor-Made Model.”

The report advocates for enshrining the rights of ethnic and religious minorities in the Kurdistan Region’s Constitution. In the meeting, a summary of the report and its recommendations will be debated with the participation of MPs, NGOs, and social activists representing ethnic and religious minorities in the Kurdistan Region.

MERI’s report is the outcome of rigorous research and contains many novel and practical recommendations aimed at underpinning democratic governance and strengthening institutions in the Kurdish Region of Iraq by guaranteeing equal partnership for ethnic and religious minorities in civic life. This event is by invitation only. Members interested in attending the event should email: events@meri-k.org.
