MERI is holding its launching event, in the presence of Kurdistan Parliamentary members on Tuesday, 3 June, 2014. In this event, the mission, objectives and programmes of MERI will be articulated to the public, and ways of collaboration with the institution of governance in Kurdistan Region and in Iraq will be debated. MERI is an independent, not-for-profit, non-governmental, research organisation. It aims to promote and develop human-rights, democracy, good governance, security and, social and economic stability through in-depth analysis and research. Core to the establishment of MERI is the aim to contribute to the process of nation building and democratisation in the Middle East via engagement, research, analysis and policy debates. MERI will hold a wide range of regular events, aiming to bring together leading government officials, policy-makers and opinion formers. The organisations publications, workshops and conferences aim to further the independent analysis of the important challenges and opportunities that the region faces.
