Launching MERI’s Report on Ethnic and Religious Minorities in Kurdistan Region

The Middle East Research Institute (MERI) is launching a special report to enshrine the rights of ethnic and religious minorities in the Kurdistan Region’s constitution. MERI’s report and its recommendations will be presented to the Constitution Committee of Kurdistan Parliament and released to media outlets, journalists and the public at 10 AM on Monday – August 10, 2015, at Kurdistan Parliament.

The report is the outcome of rigorous research and contains many novel and practical recommendations. The aim of the project is to underpin the system of democracy and strengthen the democratic institutions in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, by guaranteeing equal partnership for the ethnic and religious minorities in the system of governance.

Researchers at MERI and members of the Constitution Committee in Kurdistan Parliament will be available to comment on the MERI’s report and recommendations. This event is open to all the media outlets; local and international.
