Background & Purpose
Wars and conflicts over the past decade have had a profound impact on the Middle East’s political and socio-economic landscape. And will continue to do so for years to come. The divisive politics and communal dynamics of the region underline the current regional order’s fragility, enabling extremism and terrorist movements to thrive. It is time for policy- and decision-makers of the region to engage in a concerted dialogue for reconciliation and shared visions for a common future.
MERI: Neutral and Independent
The Middle East Research Institute (MERI), as an independent academic and non-governmental institution, is at the forefront of these debates on policy issues, human rights, nation building and other pivotal economic and political factors shaping and reshaping the region. As such, MERI is perfectly suited to providing a forum for a wide range of individuals to participate in free and fair debate.
