خوگر وریا

Khogir Wirya is a senior researcher at the Middle East Research Institute (MERI). He holds a B.A. in English Language Education and Literature from the University of Kirkuk, an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Nottingham, and an M.A. in Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding from Brandeis University. Khogir has extensive experience in community development and displacement politics through his work with international organizations such as ACDI/VOCA and the Danish Refugee Council. His research focuses on political dynamics across Iraq, with a particular emphasis on the disputed territories. He also studies the interplay between armed groups and state institutions, exploring how power structures shape governance, policy implementation, and security provision in these contexts within Iraq.
