Susan Cersosimo was an Associate Research Fellow at MERI. She graduated with a B.A. in Human Services (Law, Sociology and Psychology synthesis) from the University of Holy Names, USA, and earned a Master of Advanced Studies in International Affairs from the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego with a focus on international development and security studies in the Pacific Rim and the Middle East North Africa (MENA).
Susan is an international affairs professional with over 14 years’ research, writing and project and program management experience.
Prior to working at MERI, she served as US-based Assistant Director, Program Manager and Case Manager of Kurdish Human Rights Watch (KHRW), a non-profit, international humanitarian organization founded to provide reception and placement services for refugees and economic development services for the poor and US military veterans.Her research interests include economic development, protection for displaced persons, conflict resolution, stabilization and reconstruction, energy, security, governance and rule of law in Iraq, Turkey and the Kurdistan Region.
