Federico Borsari was research intern at the Middle East Research Institute (MERI) . He was awarded his Bachelor in History at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He also holds a Master in International Relations from the University of Bologna and has recently completed a Master in Middle Eastern Studies at the Postgraduate School of Economics and International Relations (ASERI) of Milan. Before finishing his master, he worked as communication assistant for TECLA, an Italian company in Brussels, where he also conducted field studies for his thesis on the Peshmerga and the Iraqi Security Forces.
His research interests focus on security and military transformations in the MENA region, conflict hybridization, the role of non-state actors (NSAs) and the power interactions between local actors and international players.
